I am an  Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Alberta.

I have received my Ph.D. in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics. I was a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School and completed my undergraduate and master's degrees in economics at the University of Cape Town.

My research fields are empirical asset pricing and international finance. My interests relate to exchange rates, sovereign risk, hedge funds, financial market frictions, and climate finance.

My research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Monetary Economics, and featured in media outlets like Fortune.
